KILN SERVICE GUIDELINES
For Bundling, Drop Off and Pick up
To
avoid Extra Handling Charges and Storage Fees please follow these guidelines:
Bundling:
1. Sort lumber by length in 2 foot increments
(i.e. 8’ to 10’, 10’ to 12’, etc.).
2. Bundle sorted lumber dead packed, in piles 40” to 48”
wide and 800 board feet or less per bundle.
3. Please band bundles if possible. If not, then place at least one row of stickers
in the center of the bundle especially if the lumber is the same width to hold it together during handling (use dry stickers
to avoid sticker stain). Extras Handling Charges will apply to unstable bundles that fall apart during handling.
4. Place 4”
x 4” bunks under every bundle to facilitate handling by fork lift.
Drop Off:
1. All deliveries must be scheduled as
to the day and times of drop off/pick up, especially tractor trailers.
2. We will unload and load your vehicle
by forklift at no charge. If hand (un)loading is required by us due to the type of vehicle making the drop off/pick up (i.e.
sided, pickup truck, etc.) or improper stacking for fork unloading, Extra Handling Charges will apply. You or your driver
may elect to (un)load by hand, as a function of drop off/pick up, as long as the lumber is sorted and stacked according to
the guidelines above (for drop off).
Pick Up:
1. Upon removal from the kiln, we will dead pack your material according
to the same guidelines we have asked you to use. If you need it done a different way to facilitate your receiving it, please
let us know before we un-stick your load.
2. We will notify you a few days before your load is done so that if possible, you
will pick it up in a day or two. If not, we will double cover your wood and store it outside (we offer no covered storage
facility) for 5 days so that you can arrange to pick it up. After 5 days, Storage Fees may be incurred.
3. Payment
in full must be made prior to or at the time of pick up. If you send a truck for pick
up without payment, we have the right to ask you to re-schedule until your payment for our services has been paid.
